Inspired by the challenges faced by newly diagnosed celiac patients, Arya set out to reduce the fear and uncertainty that comes with every meal. Through InnovateX, she learned Python, artificial intelligence (machine learning and deep learning), AI coding assistants, research methodologies, and an entrepreneurship framework inspired by MIT’s Disciplined Entrepreneurship to transform her idea into Celiac AI, an AI-powered application that scans ingredients, tracks food and symptoms, and delivers personalized health insights. By combining technical skills, research, and entrepreneurial thinking, Arya built a working prototype with the potential to make a meaningful impact on the lives of millions living with celiac disease.

At IMPACT Labs, students don’t choose problems from a fixed list. The curriculum is designed to first guide them in identifying real challenges within their own domains of interest and then develop AI solutions, depending on the feasibility of implementation.

A Structured Innovation Framework from Idea to Execution

Built on CONNECT-7TM – a structured, repeatable innovation framework developed by an applied AI scientist and entrepreneur. Students learn to systematically identify unmet needs, frame strong problem statements, apply AI responsibly, and iterate toward meaningful solutions.

Every student completes the program with a polished, end-to-end AI project they can confidently present in college applications, competitions, or publications, developed directly under the guidance of Dr. Subbhuraam.

Prerequisities

High school students (ambitious 8th graders may apply)

Ideal for students exploring STEM careers and academic pathways, not just computer science

Ideal for those preparing for college and internship applications, science fairs, hackathons, etc.

Basic coding knowledge is helpful but not required.* 

Format & Fees

Format: 
10 live online small-group sessions of 1.5 hours each + 2 1:1 1-hour sessions (one session/week) with the Program Director to get guidance on independent project work + asynchronous mentor support and content throughout the program duration.

Cohort Size: up to 8

Price: $299 USD $249/month for three months (Students have the opportunity to audit the first session for FREE before committing to the program.)

Aug 31 – Nov 16, 2026; Mondays 6:00 – 7.30 PM CDT
Sep 2 – Nov 18, 2026; Wednesdays 8:00 – 9.30 AM CDT 

Classes may be adjusted to accommodate long weekends.


*Students with no prior coding or Python experience enjoyed building AI models and solving real-world problems in past cohorts. They can apply and upskill with our Python refresher modules.
**Since the program is taught directly by Dr. Subbhuraam, not graduate or PhD students, cohort sizes are intentionally kept small
**InnovateX and ScholarX are the only two programs currently offered by IMPACT Labs. There are no add-ons, upsells, or additional fees. 12 sessions and for the cost of a few after-school activities, students gain applied Python and AI skills, complete an AI innovation project, and learn a structured framework they can reuse to build additional projects independently. This creates a clear, authentic trajectory of interest that strengthens college applications, science fair submissions, and internship opportunities, positioning students ahead of their peers in today’s AI-forward era.
